Commonly Asked Questions:
What Should I Wear For The Class?
For your free class, you can wear a t-shirt (no t-shirts with questionable, or inappropriate logos/phrases), athletic pants (or track pants), non-marking soft soled indoor shoes (Markham only) or bare feet (Mississauga and Kitchener-Waterloo locations).
If you decide to join as a student, you will receive a class t-shirt included that you can wear during classes.
Am I Obligated to Sign Up If I Try the Free Class?
Absolutely not. We believe that taking martial arts should be a positive experience.
While many people love Wing Chun, it’s not for everyone. This class will give you a chance to decide if it’s the right fit for you – no stress, pressure or obligation.
What If I Just Want To Watch The Class?
Not a problem – if you feel more comfortable watching from the sidelines before you jump in, that’s ok too. Please contact us to arrange a time to watch a class (as in some locations we’ll need to set up the appropriate watching area for you).
What Happens If I Like the Class and Want to Join?
Just let us know (you’re in the drivers seat – no pressure) and we’ll fill out the appropriate information to get you set up with your club T-shirt, class schedule and online members access code.
You can inform us of your decision at any time – not just immediately after the class. (However be aware that class sizes are limited – and if your chosen class is full, you will be put on a waiting list).
What Can I Expect From A Typical Wing Chun Class?
Many people can be intimated by martial arts classes. You won’t find the typical ego, competition or pressure with our classes.
We believe that learning and training should be fun, exciting, and done in the spirit of cooperation and in a family type environment. There is no room for ego or competition in our classes.
Students are encouraged to help and support each other to be the best they can be. You will measure your own progress against yourself – not anyone else. Above all, you’re here to have fun and enjoy yourself!
